Fanno Creek Clinic offers its patients high quality primary health care together with the convenience of on-site specialists, lab, X-ray, ultrasound, and echocardiology services. Owned by both the physicians and staff members, we strive to create an environment that supports providing personalized, patient-centered health care. Dedicated to providing new and innovative treatment options for our patients, Fanno Creek Clinic has been involved with clinical trials and research for over 20 years. New and successful treatment options have been presented to hundreds of Fanno Creek Clinic patients with conditions ranging from bronchitis to high blood pressure, from depression to diabetes, and from HIV to herpes. In addition to offering primary care, our specialties include:
One of our key priorities is making quality health care accessible to all patients without regard to age, race, gender, sexual orientation, religious preference, economic status, or preexisting health status. Our efforts to be responsive to the health needs of the elderly and vulnerable were acknowledged in 2004 when Fanno Creek Clinic was honored with The Spirit of Portland - Small Business of the Year Award. The Spirit of Portland Awards are presented annually to those who have made positive contributions to the city of Portland and neighborhoods “above and beyond the average volunteer or staff commitment.” In being given this award, Fanno Creek Clinic was specifically recognized for deciding to continue accepting Medicare patients, as well as seeing Oregon Health Plan patients, who are often displaced.
Since it opened its doors in Hillsdale neighborhood of SW Portland in 1997, Fanno Creek Clinic has been dedicated to the health and well-being of each and every patient that enters the clinic for medical care. But more than that, the clinic is committed to the health, well-being and overall quality of life of its entire community. Now, over 20 years later, the clinic continues its commitment.
In 2004, when it became evident that a remodeling of the clinic’s premises was required, reducing energy demands was a priority and so the decision was to go solar. In addition to adding insulation, upgrading windows and replacing heating, cooling and lighting systems with energy-efficient units, 30 solar panels were installed on the clinic’s rooftop. We’re proud to say that our efforts were recognized when Fanno Creek Clinic was awarded the 2005 BEST Award for Energy by the City of Portland’s Office of Sustainable Development.
In 2007, the clinic recruited 62 other small businesses in Portland to get involved in the “Energy March” campaign. A resounding success, over 7,000 free, energy-saving compact fluorescent light bulbs were provided to patients and customers during March and April. According to information provided by ENERGY STAR®, the “Energy March” could save over 2.7 million kWh of electricity and prevent more than 4.2 million pounds of greenhouse gas emissions (the equivalent to planting over 500 acres of trees) over the life of the bulbs.
Fanno Creek Clinic has awarded Portland Public Schools grants for programs such as one-on-one tutoring in math and science, art education programs, student counseling, library books, library cataloging systems, field trips, audio visual equipment and math and science textbooks. Several schools in SW Portland have been recent recipients of grants.
