Job Summary

Fanno Creek Clinic is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team located in SW Portland. This is a full-time position Monday - Friday day-time hours. Candidate will be primarily responsible for phlebotomy and processing of appropriate samples for testing.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Computer inquiry and entry to maintain patient demographics as well as test ordering details in multiple computer systems in accordance with compliance guidelines.
  • Processing and preparing samples for testing on site.
  • Processing, preparing, and packaging samples for delivery to reference labs.
  • Perform CLIA waived testing for example: Urine dipstick, rapid HCV/HIV, ESR, BNP, Urine HCG and other waived testing.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Candidate must be able to perform blood draws on patients of all ages. Must be detail-oriented, organized, and punctual. Candidate must comply with all federal and state regulations and local policies pertaining to clinical laboratory and safety.
  • Phlebotomy license or LA degree required. 1-2 years in a clinic setting is preferred.
  • Work is conducted in accordance with all regulatory accreditation agency requirements. The candidate needs to be able to process all specimen types and sources that will be analyzed by the laboratory including blood, urine, cultures and other body fluids. Phlebotomy procedures are required including venous and capillary punctures, and urine collections for medical and legal testing procedures.

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Seeking a professional and friendly qualified certified medical assistant (CMA) with a minimum of two years experience

Duties include: 

  • Greeting and preparing patients for medical examination.
  • Screening patients for appropriate information.
  • Maintains and updates patient information as necessary. 
  • Prepares equipment and assist provider during examination.
  • Instructs patients according to providers directions.
  • Clean and restock exam rooms as appropriate between patients.
  • Assists providers in completing medical record documentation as directed.
  • Oversees providers appointment schedule. 
  • Performs telephone follow up.
  • Assist providers as required and directed. 

Experience with triage of patient phone calls necessary. Knowledge of HIPAA required and a knowledge of Centricity would be helpful but not required.
